no wrong sounds
Synth Circle
Synth Circle is a community-led network of creative people making electronic music and soundscapes. We exist to support our members along their creative journey and aim to provide a diverse, welcoming and non-judgmental space for experimentation and knowledge sharing.Think of us as a writers' circle, with more noise.
In person, with people.
Due to the nature of their practice, artists working in electronic music and sound production are often isolated and disconnected from each other, relying on online relationships and platforms to develop their skills, share their work and receive feedback on what they create.Synth Circle was created to address this. Our objective is simple – to create a diverse and supportive in-person network of electronic musicians and sound artists that help them develop sustainable and rewarding creative practices and careers. Our activities are primarily promoted through Instagram, so follow us over there to keep up to date.

Who We Are, What We Ain't
We are a community of creative people making electronic music and soundscapes, based in the Blue Mountains, NSW.We are not a business, promoter, venue, or industry organizer. We do span the breadth of electronic music and sound production. We do not expect any level of experience or knowledge. Everyone is welcome regardless of where they're at, or what they know. Our events are coordinated by a loose, open committee that anyone can join. Our events are not delivered for people, they are delivered with them. Anyone can put their hand up to organise one.
Our Principles
Diverse: inclusive and welcoming
Fun: fun is mandatory
Community: others > ego
Experimental: try new things - no wrong sounds
Low stakes: ease > effort
Modest: ideas > gear
Regular: life happens, see you soon

Who We Were, Before
Synth Circle used to be mmmodular. It started in 2023 when founder Mx Robert Frost decided they wanted to hang out with friendly people who also like synthesizers, and it grew from there. Fun times were had.
